Paper road.

Joplin is really enjoying cutting at the moment as he seems to have finally got the hang of scissors! I gave him some sticky back foam to cut shapes out of and stick to some black card, but he had other ideas! 

"I'm making a road"!

Good idea so I went with it! I showed him how to cut long strips out of the card and then we stuck them together. He then drew the road markings with chalk. 

 He then wanted to make signs for the road "oh like 'STOP?" I asked. "No - The M40!" Of course.

I thought a great suggestion would be cutting houses from the newspaper to line the roads to make it a proper street. He managed one before declaring the motorway doesn't have houses. Fair enough! What do I know!?

Cardboard TV

A real minute make but lots of fun! 

Two holes cut in a box (with Mum's bread knife!) then an on button cut out and taped on. A cardboard remote and then see what's on!

 The weather, traffic reports of course (a crash on the M40 if you must know!), a bit of Countdown and Bargain Hunt and a few songs on YouTube (The Jam and The Cure mainly).

 Oh and of course some Fireman Sam!!

Clacton Pier

The boys love the pier! I don't know why we bother about the rides actually as I think they could play in the Amusements without spending a penny!

 They did love the cars though - especially trying to run over Grandad!

 And then a happy Eden heading off on a boat trip.....

 ......and then not so happy half way round!!!

Fun in Clacton!

We've been having a lovely half term in Clacton! Dad cut some Pampas Grass swords (or Toi Toi for the NZ rellies) and had a great fight with Eden!

 Then we headed for the beach on the bikes where Eden had a great time throwing stones at the sea!

 Then next morning we headed for a kids' entertainment show - you can see how impressed my two were with joining in!!

 With a visit from Auntie Peggy later in the day we had a game of Bingo! Joplin really enjoyed it but even more so when he was the caller!

We then headed to a great pirate ship playground at Clacton Common. 

 We took the bows and arrows  with us and they worked great in Mum and Dad's garden. Joplin has really got the hang of it now.

 Mainly lots of cuddles for the boys were had with Nannah and Grandad!!

Halloween!

We went to a fab Halloween party this year! I made some owl cakes to take along - they were actually a brownie recipe so really chocolatey and gooey inside!

Lots of games were played including a witch dress up relay race and a version of hot potato with witches brooms.

They all loved the apple bobbing!

Our other friends had made bows and arrows too and all the children really got into them.

Then a bit of chill out time after tea watching The Goonies!

That is until the shout of "Pinata" went up and you have never seen a room empty so fast! It was a really sturdy one and even with the big queue of children everyone had around 3 bashes.

Even Eden had a go!!

Then when it finally broke and spilled the contents, the scramble began!!

Both my boys managed to get some though!

Two happy sugar filled boys on their way home!!
